It is strategic and necessary.
It's how I've learned to survive through everything.
It's how I fight."
- Waymond Wang
"Everything, Everywhere, All at Once" is not a film that I would have ever chosen to see. A genre bending, multiverse movie, infused with interlocking layers of philosophical and cultural meaning is not really my thing.
However, a friend recommended it with a heads up that it was "a bit strange". I was promised that the last 1/3 of the film would be well worth the wait.
As one who cherishes, and actually collects "tidbits of wisdom" via the watching of movies, let's just say that I was not disappointed.
The unconventional wisdom in Waymond's "choosing to see the good" as a necessity may have seemed quirky to some, or perhaps idealistic at best. For me, it resonated in such a way that it left me with an overall sense of well-being. That despite a crazy world where everything, everywhere is indeed happening all at once, that somehow . . . all is well.
The
subtlety of googly eyes throughout, along with Waymond's baking of cookies
was icing on the cake, so to speak, truly solidifying its place in my heart of
hearts.
