My Persona of Choice

Who is Mister Roger's neighbor?  What would that person be like?  I think about it every now and again, and it's been helpful in keeping my manners in check, most notedly when finding myself being pulled into online discussions. 

 A few years back, I made myself an online name of "Mister Rogers Neighbor" which I admittedly have used on occasion.  I did so in order to take on the characteristics of such a person while commenting.

Interestingly, it seemed to help.  I can't help but to think, or at least to hope that any neighbor of Mister Roger's would have taken on a few of his neighborly ways.  And why not?

So, if you ever see a comment or some such thing from Mister Roger's Neighbor, take a moment to reflect on just who that might be, and more importantly, why it might be.
