The Fascinating Miss Jones

The heartfelt influence of Miss Jones was soothing in nature, not unlike a soft summer rain in August.  She was a substitute teacher unlike any other, somewhat Bohemian in nature,
sporting a beret and a short black cape over her turtleneck sweater.  Gracing our classroom for only one single day, her image remains imprinted clearly in my mind.

More compelling than her striking appearance however, was a calm and gentle demeanor, accompanied by a subtle, ever so pleasant aroma.  While other teachers smelled of cigarettes and coffee, Miss jones radiated with the effervescence of spearmint.

So uncanny was her persona, that I've often wondered whether the whole scenario was nothing more than a conjured-up daydream.  Something made up in my mind to enhance an otherwise ordinary school day.  I suppose I'll never really know for sure.

B
e that as it may, I do seem to have a distinct preference for spearmint gum.  So much so that I'm seldom to be found without a plentiful supply.  So whether fantasy or reality, the allure that was the "mysterious miss Jones" remains.
