College doesn't seem that long ago, yet a picture says a thousand words. A snapshot taken "back in the day" leaves little doubt as to the era of our college years. Gunne Sax style dresses, along with the first stages of what would become the iconic "big hair" of the 1980's kind of gives it away. Almost a "Charlie's Angels" moment in time, one might say. Now whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is debatable, but there it is.
Memories become less vivid over the years, much the same as cherished old photos that tend to fade and blur. but that's okay. In fact, it's better than okay. It's somehow comforting, leaving one with a warm, cozy feeling not unlike that of warm cocoa and melty marshmallows on a cold & snowy winter day.
I'd go so far to say that the mellowing process associated with aging is a silver lining of sorts. Remembrance graciously softened by the passage of time.
Thank-you, mother nature.
