Suzanne & Her Sisters

As kids, we could hardly wait for Christmas or summer vacation, forever counting down the weeks and days.  Milestone birthdays, such as becoming teenagers or getting a driver's license were right up there, along with first dates, proms, and the like.  All just part of growing up.  Would we ever get there?

In what seems like a blink of the eye, we're on the other end of the spectrum, ironically wishing that time would slow down, as it seems to be passing all too quickly.  Where did the time go?  A lifetime has passed, leaving a trail of accomplishments and memories in its wake.  The years between that of childhood and where we find ourselves today were busy, hectic, and overwhelming at times.  Each day filled to the brim, taking our every waking moment.  But we wouldn't have had it any other way.

There comes a time to appreciate and enjoy the fruits of labor that come from a lifetime of blood, sweat, and tears.  My friend Suzanne is in such a place, along with her sisters Glennda and Judy.  Settling in to reflect, and to survey the fields cultivated over a lifetime.

You can see it in their faces, a happiness far beyond the excitement of children on Christmas morning.  It's a calm contentedness that all is well with the world.  There's a special bond that siblings share, unparalleled to any other, unique and irreplaceable.  It may be put on hold from time to time, but it never really goes away.  Siblings are unconditional lifelong friends by design, It's Just how it works.

Everything in its time and purpose, and just like that, it all makes sense.  A lifetime is a long time, yet seemingly all too short as well.  Time indeed, brings all things to pass.
