"There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the credit"
Ronald Reagan was credited with these words, and even though it seems to go against basic human nature, the advice appears to be sound. Does it really matter who bought the Big Salad? Is it simply a need for praise or attention? Inquiring minds want to know.
Reagan's words might ring true in a perfect world, but until then, maybe not so much. As much as we may not want to admit it, we've all had those moments where we can see a little twinge of George Costanza in ourselves. Perhaps the need for praise, attention, or at least for appreciation is a necessary ingredient for the human condition. Food for thought.
